In a major move to reshape global supply chains, the United States and Australia have announced a $3 billion joint investment under a newly signed Critical Minerals Framework. The agreement is designed to secure strategic resources, scale domestic and allied production, and advance resilience through trusted partnerships.
M2i Global strongly supports this framework, one which we at M2i have been diligently working toward for years.
As outlined in the White House Fact Sheet, this agreement includes:
- $3B+ in upcoming investments in critical mineral projects
- $2.2B in financing through U.S. EXIM Bank
- The U.S. to invest in a 100-metric-ton gallium refinery in Western Australia
- Enhanced U.S.-Australia defense and technology cooperation through AUKUS
M2i’s Longstanding Australia Ties
M2i’s engagement with Australia is not new. It’s embedded in our leadership.
Anthony Short, a veteran of the Australian mining and industrial sectors, serves on M2i Global’s board of directors. His decades of operational experience—from resource development to downstream logistics—are helping shape M2i’s cross-border execution model. Anthony’s leadership ensures that our U.S. strategy is informed by Australia’s best practices in mineral development, ESG frameworks, and technology innovation.
Meet Anthony and our full leadership team.
Nova Terra, another M2i partner, is a not-for-profit research engine working with industry and academia to develop positive mining solutions. Their work directly aligns with U.S. and Australian priorities around clean technology, high processing standards, and sourcing practices.
These relationships are not theoretical. They are embedded in M2i’s operational blueprint, including on-the-ground project pipelines, joint technology initiatives, and cross-border logistics planning that supports the U.S. defense industrial base.
Delivering on Strategic Mineral Reserve Goals
M2i is actively developing a Strategic Mineral Reserve for the U.S., combining Australian-sourced feedstock with U.S.-based processing and traceability systems. This approach fulfills a dual mandate: reduce foreign dependency and demonstrate environmental and labor excellence through partnerships like those with Nova Terra and Not For Sale.
Through our blockchain-enabled traceability platform, every step of the supply chain, from Australian extraction to U.S. custody, will be anchored in verifiable data, compliance, and national security priorities.
The Path Forward
With the geopolitical climate pushing countries to rethink mineral strategy, the U.S.-Australia compact marks a pivotal moment. M2i Global is aligned and already moving forward with proven partners, a validated infrastructure model, and an execution framework that reflects exactly the kind of trusted, binational collaboration this agreement envisions.
